Reduce downlights and replace them with LED downlights

We have 11 down lights in the kitchen/laundry area of our investment property and its a bit of a pain when they go faulty. We would like an electrician who has experience and can help us reduce the existing down lights in the kitchen/laundry area (see photo) and replace them with a fewer, reliable and energy efficient LED down lights and also get some advice of how to patch up the ceiling once the other downlights have been removed.
