New switchboard

Hi I need a switchboard upgrade and a few cables updated. I live central It's a two bedroom house Some new cable, some old black cable I'm exposing walls etc I'd like to run the cable myself to save costs as I've done this before. Otherwise I'm happy to just expose walls and drill holes and be the lackie. Also like to know if exposed conduit is an option?
