Replace plug on a heater

Posted 8 years ago

this is an oil column heater that we only had for a month last winter and our pet rabbit decided to chew the cord, luckily it wasnt on at the time! (for the rabbits sake!) and luckily it is also down the plug end, so would still leave us enough length of cord if the damaged part was cut off and a new plug wired on. We found it wasnt worth it to get an electrician callout to do it as with their minimum callout fee it was almost going to be cheaper to just buy a new heater! We are still hoping i...

Wall removal for new kitchen

Posted 9 years ago

We live in a 1960's brick house and need three walls or portions of walls removed for a new kitchen. All walls contain electrical wiring (stove/lights/power points). There is kitchen cabinetry attached to two of the walls, which would need to be removed. We need a doorway blocked up, and there is also what used to be a hot water cupboard before we moved the cylinder outside which needs removal.

Spare room

Posted 10 years ago

Rewiring of rubber wiring in a spare room. There are also three power points to install (new plates) and one of these at least to be a double plug. The light fitting in the room also needs new wiring. We are relining the room and so want the work done in the next two weeks when the lining is off before the builder relines the walls. I have had quotes for rewiring the remainder of the house and that was expensive. I could be interested in getting quotes for this again to see if the cost is...
