2 bathroom extractor fans and one kitchen

Hi - we've bought a 1920s bungalow with 2 bathroom fans that appear to just extract into the (reasonably generous) roof space and 1 kitchen one that seems to just go into the wall... (despite being on an outside wall). Open to suggestions for a replacement but we'll be completely renovating those in the next few years so may just be best to duct the current ones for now. Pic of one of the bathroom fans attached. The other is similar. Kitchen one is a simple wall extractor (old Simpson one) on an exterior weatherboard wall.
