Replace rotten exterior door threshold

Rotten front door threshold needs replacement as is becoming a safety risk for guests. Threshold timber is tapered. Would prefer stainless or at least galvanised hardware even if costs more - can see some nails used are rusting. I have a number of similar small jobs around the house that need doing also if you're interested (e.g. repairing/replacing cracked siding, filling holes in siding, replacing a rusty flashing).
