Fitting and fixing three doors including a flap door

My husband built an outdoor bbq, it has three doors. Two of them are normal doors with hinges on one side. But they don’t fit properly and I can’t open and close them. The main door is a big heavy flap type door that opens up to provide a sun shelter over hang . It has hydrolic stays but the way they are attached do not hold up the door. The flap seems too heavy. We would love to use the BBQ this summer so if you can help me, please get in touch.
