Job description

Timber Repair & Maintenance Ngaio, Wellington

Published on 5th May 2026

We are getting new carpet laid which will be a few millimetres higher than the current old carpet, and at least 3 doors will need a few millimetres trimmed off the bottom after the carpet is laid. The ideal date to do this would be Tuesday afternoon 26 May, or else later than week. Photos show the wooden doors and hinges. At least 3 doors, possibly similar wardrobe doors as well but won't find that out until after the carpet is laid.

"He had the right equipment and was able to neatly trim the doors, which were veneer but didn't split. He did have trouble with the hinges on one door. I didn't know exactly how many doors needed doing until after the carpet was laid, and he was flexible in this regard. Fairly neat and tidy. Didn't seem to get messages through Builderscrack, but responsive on the celllphone."
