Wanted: Builder to install/rehang a new set of external French Doors into an existing frame. I have a set of external French Doors which have been badly damaged by a dog and have decided rather than repair to replace them with a new set of second hand doors. I have already purchased the replacement set of French Doors (see attached photos). The old doors measured 1975mm high and width of 745mm+735mm=1480mm combined The new doors measure 1980mm high and width of 745mm+760mm=1505mm combined The new doors are just 5mm taller so may need a bit of tweaking and one of the doors is 20-25mm wider so will need reducing with an electric planer or bench saw to get the exact fit. The existing frame will remain and should not need any modification/repair. I’m looking for a builder or carpenter who can help remove old French Doors and install this new set in an older Victorian Villa in Hataitai, Wellington Other than one door needing to be trimmed by 20-25mm, the new set should fit into an existing frame so I do not envisage too many issues. Other work including some minor Gib replacement and some outside deck repair may be available as well. If you are interested in providing this work located in Hataitai, Wellington or have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask me. Peter - please ask for my phone number
