Tidy up of front door and porch entrance

Our front door is in desperate need of a tidy up, new paint job etc.. When the wind blows a certain way some water gets pushed under the door and into the porch area. If this could be remedied that would be great, but I have been told because it is an inside swinging door this might not be possible. The entrance porch also needs a tidy up. Including ceiling and walls. Possibly a piece of chipboard for ceiling and area around cat flap. I think it will make sense when reviewing the photos that I posted. The whole area is very small, around 2.5 square metres. I am open to suggestions, basically we want it looking tidier. Thanks!
