Water Swollen Doors

We recently shifted into an old house, that was developed prior to our purchase. The tool shed door and the garage doors (French) have absorbed so much water with the recent rain that they cannot be safely opened. Presumably they have not been sealed correctly. They may need to be planed and repainted, so this does not happen again in future.
