Remove fireplace & hearth

Looking to see if it is possible to remove the front of a fireplace and the hearth, and then have the hole plastered over. We are not planning on removing the chimney at this stage. Please only get in touch if you can do the job in the next 2 weeks, as we are having carpet installed on the 28th of May.
