Cutting bases out of ceramic planters/pots

Bit of a left field request. I have a few ceramic planters which id like to plant trees in, but for them to grow successfully the bases of the pots need to be removed. Have seen videos of this being done with a grinder (see attached). I know its risky - perhaps a job for a tiler or concrete cutter?
