Small wooden tīrewa in Wellington

Job image

Job description

General Carpentry
Wellington

NB: this work needs to be done within TWO WEEKS - by Wednesday 7 July. We are looking for someone speedy to build two smallish structures called 'tīrewa' out of wood (please see attached image of what a tīrewa might look like). Our tīrewa aren't technically a piece of furniture so it doesn't need to be load-bearing, beyond having a few light things hung from it (like flax, or paper). The tīrewa is built of separate pieces of wood that can be fitted and/or tied together to create a kind of frame as seen in the picture. Our tīrewa should be about 1m in length, less in height (exact height unknown). Ideally, the tīrewa should be fairly quick to put together and take down again, and all of the pieces of each should be light enough that one person can carry all of the pieces. If you have any interest in this at all I am happy to answer questions, please request contact and I'll do my best to get back to you ASAP. Thank you!

Shelford was an excellent find. He made his expectations clear up front, and responded very quickly to my communications. We are so pleased with the tīrewa he made for us, and the workmanship is excellent. Perfectly on brief!
