Fitted bookshelves for a large wall

We have this very large wall that we wish to fit with built-in bookshelves to the level of the ceiling meeting the walls - probably 50cm above the door into the room. As such, the door will open through the bookcase. We would like a timber that echoes the ceiling. We are ready for this to be completed as soon as it suits our agreed contractors.
