Job description

General Carpentry
Wanganui

I am after someone at short notice to help finish setting up a new campervan. It's going to take time to get it perfect and I'll keep wanting to work away at it but a few changes need to be made within the next 4 weeks to make it ready for my first trip. The things that need doing straight away are: -fitting a plywood or laminate backboard to block the cab from back and create a backboard for the kitchen benchtop. Adding shelves to this new "wall" to increase storage would be great too - cutting some holes in the existing cabinets and making a steel framework "fridge slide" on locking drawer runners, so that a fridge/ freezer, or a separate fridge compressor chest and a smaller freezer compressor chest could be added and stored but pulled out where needed. It would either be one large drawer on the floor so that the strength isn't as important or two smaller drawers, one above the other (that will need to support quite a heavy item,) required. The ideal setup in my head would be to remove the left door on the kitchen cabinet and set up a slide on the bottom for a smaller freezer, (the layout has a smaller width here, so a larger fridge on the bottom would protrude more.) and on above it for a larger fridge. Here there is room to roll it out, and it doesn't impede the smaller cupboards along the wall from opening, even if the front protrudes a bit.) An alternative would be a larger combined chest on the floor which may impede the door of the smaller cupboards, or two smaller units in the smaller cupboards.) An upright fridge could work but would be harder to vent and less convenient. Worst case would be putting the fridge in the front and a small freezer in the back in the storage under the seats. -cutting away the front of the "couch" and making a slit for a slide down cage door, and making holes in the seat above and the sides for adequate ventilation. This area would be ideal as a dog crate for my small dog Things to chip away at: - adding a fold down table to the "lounge" -cutting a hole in the side of the slim storage box across from the seat and adding shelves to make a storage area/ bookshelf/ bedside table area. - applying laminate to the benchtop - installing a cooker with an LPG bottle -installing high shelves for extra storage - reorganising kitchen cabinetry with drawers and/ or slides to make things easier to access I know it's lots of jobs; the top ones are the only ones needing done in a hurry(ish.) I pick the van up next weekend (feb 23rd or 24th) and am hoping to use it from the 14th of March. Thank you for your time, Chelsea
