Investigation of smell coming from under deck.

This is quite a minor job, but one we can’t take care of as we live in Wellington, and our tenant is in Mt Maunganui. The tenant has complained of an unpleasant smell that comes every time there is heavy rain. It does go away after a few days of dry weather but it is apparently quite unpleasant when it is present. It emanates from under the ground level decking in the backyard, and we’d like to unscrew some of the decking to see if there is any obvious cause under there. The job is to basically unscrew the deck, take a look, and put it back afterwards.
