We need our balcony fixed. It’s a cantilevered structure that’s covered with Butynol and tiles, originally installed in the 70s we believe. Part of the balcony includes one parapet. The building is dry inside. The Butynol has surpassed its serviceable life and water penetrates at one location that we’re aware of. We’ve observed that the upturn of the Butynol is minimal. We suspect that at least 1 or 2 of the cantilevered joists require repair beneath the area that the Butynol is no longer serviceable. The balustrade requires repair too. It’s been suggested to us that the repairs we have in mind fall under Schedule 1 category and we welcome any legitimate progress under this notion. Images to follow. Location is Porirua.
