I am wanting to put polycarbonate roofing over an existing deck at the entrance to a dwelling. (24.5 sq m). I purchased materials to do this not realising it exceeded 20 sq m. From the guidance on the council website below, it can be done without consent as long as - • Porches and verandas to 30 square metres in size, when a Licensed Building Practitioner is to carry out or supervise design and construction. I was hoping (if I understand it right) to pay for a consultation with a LBP over how it should be done (have already looked at beam size, spans etc), and make alterations to my current plan if necessary. Second at a later date to check the work has been done to standard. I will be completing the work. I imagine this could easily be done after work, and any follow up supervision/inspections when it suited you. Assuming I have understood the guidance on the council website accurately.

Joseph is very good to deal with. Was involved in consulting and I was very happy with his professionalism and communication.
