Job description

General Carpentry
Kapiti Coast

Garage Laundry Alcove build for front loader, small dryer (optional), above. laundry tub and shelving in 1953 home. The walls require relining and shelving to fill an area 180 cm height and 120 width. I would prefer the floor tiled. I have available, tiles, lino and some jib pieces. I would like some insulation in the walls above the concrete, to reduce the noise and cold leaking through to the lounge, on the other side. The plumber has prepared the waste water exit already and will work with you two times, briefly at times that suit you, to complete the connections to the washing machine and small laundry tub and remove the temporary waste water pipe. The shelving will be pocket size, between the laundry tub and alcove wall. Please be advised that this work is the first step in restoring the garage to a usable space. Preferably, I would like the work completed before the end of April.

The builder, in his new business, worked solidly and had a professional appearance and was pleasant to interact with. The work was not up to standard and the builder rectified this. However, the finished workmanship was not up to standard though acceptable in view of the ugly garage space to build the laundry alcove . The work would not have been acceptable to me, if in the kitchen or bathroom. Both my retired joiner friend and the owner of a plumbing business affirmed the poor finish work.
