Deck and fence fix

The deck has a gap on the two sides that neighbourhood cats get into. I would like a strip of timber run along the length of the gap, possibly in the centre of it, which would stop them. Sides measure 7420 and 5556. There is also a rotten board in the timber fence which needs replacing, board is 2300 long of 150x25 timber.
