Replace wrought iron balustrade with timber

We have the original 50 year old iron balustrades on our front porch, and they are in poor condition. They are rusting, and expanding and cracking the concrete on the stairs and porch. We would like to replace them with a simple timber balustrade, and an additional hand rail on the house side of the stairs. We would also like any cracks in the concrete repaired. Time frame is flexible, but would ideally be soon, as we will be painting the stairs in a few weeks time.
