Existing deck and new extension

We have a concrete deck attached to the back of our house. We would like to refinish this as well as build an extension on which will be just above ground height and stairs. This extension would be the size of the concrete pad shown in the photos (the washing line has already been removed). Extension would be wood - depending on cost would probably refinish the concrete of the existing deck, but would like to understand cost of getting wooden on existing also.
