Fabric storage solution

I have a LOT of fabric and a slightly awkwardly room to store it in. At the moment the fabric is stored in plastic drawers which work well in some ways but not in others. The good points are that each drawer can easily be removed from the cabinet, which makes the fabric easier to access and put away, and the drawers themselves are lightweight and the fabric can be seen through them. The bad points are that the sets of drawers don’t stack very well, and the frames are quite chunky so not particularly space efficient. I have a concept of creating built in frames that will work with the existing drawers, allowing them to be stacked up nice and high to maximise the available space. The challenges with the room are various doors and windows which cannot be blocked. Looking for someone interested in helping me find a creative solution to this storage problem!
