Kitchen cabinetry needs repair

I recently replaced the dishwasher, which means the full-length board that sat below the cabinets in the kitchen needs adjustment. I still have the full-length board that needs cutting into two pieces and placed either side of the dishwasher. The remaining board I'd like to use in the gap above the oven. When we replaced the oven a few years ago it wasn't as tall as the previous one and has left a gap.
