Foundation repair

A crack has developed in the bricks on the corner of the house. Another builder and engineer have had a quick look and suggest excavating under the corner with a view to an engineer recommending a solution, probably a concrete reinforcement to stop the crack and movement getting worse. The crack appears white in the photos because the crack has been sealed to prevent moisture but we need a permanent solution. In 1st picture a vertical crack is above the window and a horizontal above the down pipe. Second picture has a closeup.
