Placement of beam to counteract removal of possible load bearing wall

Planning to remove a kitchen which has features that I suspect are there to provide support. The removal of the kitchen may require consent and require some remedying building to fix this. I need to have this a) assessed by a builder, and b) a remedying solution (placement of beam or something) carried out in the event that the area is load bearing. The turnaround of the job is 4-6 weeks and ideally require this work to be carried ASAP.
