Job description

General Building
Porirua

We have two smallish jobs we would like to get quotes for please. 1) We have a split level 1960s home where a bedroom that sits over our dining room is flexing quite a bit. It appears to be structurally sound and the wooden flooring (rimu) seems fine too, but would benefit from adding extra joists {and possibly insulation} to lesson the noise and bounciness. The dining room ceiling is approx 3.5m x 3.5m square and we've been told when we first purchased the property a couple years ago that the ceiling would need to be removed to add new joists. Therefore we also require someone who can re install a new ceiling once the joists are completed. 2) we would like a new front door sourced (recycled/second hand is fine) to replace our current front door. The door we have right now is likely the original and has too much glass in it and sticks in winter. We'd like a competent builder to replace this with a sturdier door with either little or no glass in it, make sure everything is level and re hang it for us. We can sand and paint if required however if the new door is glass-less then we would also like a security peep hole thing installed too. We are flexible with start dates however we would like a builder(s) who can finish the job(S) promptly once started and who guarantee their workmanship.

Oriel builders fixed a very creaky wooden ceiling above our dining room and we are so happy with the result. A few weeks in the horrible squeaking is almost entirely gone and the rooms are significantly warmer thanks to the added insulation too. Dave was very friendly and professional and easy to deal with. We're looking forward to him renovating our bathroom next. Highly recommend Oriel Builders. Thank you!
