Small wall and door at the top of my stairs

My main bedroom is at the top of my stairs, it has no wall or door and as I live on my own I get scared that if anyone enters the house they can walk straight into my room. I have been reluctant to seek help as I have been let down by people starting and not finishing the job. However I really need this done so I can sleep better. Apparently the mistake I made according to families and friends was paying all the money up front. I just think it was bad luck with my choices as I still believe there are good honest people out there. So if you could resolve my no wall and door issue it would be much appreciated. Happy to take photos and measurements I put in a guesstimate of the build as I wouldn’t have a clue and I am relying on Tradie integrity. Please help
