1. Identify rotten wood. 2. Decide on best course of action. 3. Carry out all actions including paint. Doesn't have to be done at all once. Bit by bit (keeping the wood/house safe) is absolutely fine :) House is 1 story, but very tall, will likely need scaffolding.
