Bathroom Handrails

I would like two (previously purchased) metal handrails attached to the wall in my bathroom. One of these will be directly above the toilet, and the other will be placed in the cellophane-backed shower. Not being a builder myself, I am unsure about exactly where the rails should be placed so as to avoid any leaking/water damage or other potential issues.
