Botched door frame

I believe a broken off piece of door frame was sat back in place and patched into place with builders bog, which has caused the door to rub and eventually flake off bog. Not a brand new house so I am not expecting a perfect finish but would be rapt if we could get it fit for purpose asap as new tenants are moving in Saturday. I will do the painting
