Upper Level Decking Support

We have 1 deck that looks like some stage has had a post removed that would have supported the deck and replaced with a steel beam for support that has been poorly instated (in a carport/garage). We are looking to get an opinion on either supporting the deck properly, or if we have to have it removed. I would prefer to keep the deck.
