Home Extension & Modifications

We have a 1970's weatherboard home mostly on wooden piles (mostly as a previous extension was done on a concrete slab). Section is completely flat. We would like to use some of our backyard to add another bedroom w/ a small bathroom coming off the side of the house, roughly 4x4m in size. There is currently a set of french doors leading outside where we'd like to place the room. Outside of those doors is currently an old concrete slab we're removing. We are happy to do the internal gibbing, painting, architrave & carpet/flooring, and external painting as we're redecorating currently anyway. We understand we would need a sparky and plumber as well as part of this job and are happy to either take suggestions or organize ourselves. We would need assistance with drafting and the resource consent process, we have been to the council already and have the original house plans. We noted there the existing extension was not included on the original plan and would need to be included on the new plan when submitted. In another room at the opposite end of the house we would also like to remove a window and convert it into a set of doors with a small overhanging shelter instead. We don't have a specific timeframe for this project - we'd like to get it started whenever possible, we've just had trouble finding anyone either available, willing to assist or not excessively expensive (e.g. 100k+). So to recap: - Build extension of roughly 4x4 bedroom w/ bathroom - Interior decorating/gibbing/etc. will be done by us - Exterior painting will be done by us - We need assistance with the drafting and building consent process - Replace a Large Windows in a 3x3 room with a set of Doors going to external - Build small shelter over new external doors
