Dunedin

We wish to upgrade the house piles at 37 falcon st Kaikoria. We are seeking a licenced builder or carpenter to scope out the job for us, which entails assessing the condition/accessibility etc. of each of the piles, recording that information for us, and making a recommendation on whether the pile is OK, Fix or Replace. We would then pass it on to a draftsperson/engineer, and then submit to council for approval. Some piles may be inaccessible, which is accommodated for in the Information Sheet. We are providing 2 sheets (sample images supplied). • Plan View of the house • Information sheet, which needs to be filled out. At a high level, what is required is 1. Locate each floor bearer and include on the plan view of the house. 2. Locate each pile and mark it on the associated floor bearer on the Plan View (Number it) 3. Measure/assess each pile 4. Make a recommendation on each pile (OK, Fix, Replace) We are looking for a price for the scoping exercise. Payment to your nominated account? The house is currently tenanted so I would need to tee up a time. Regards, Rob Butcher (+ --- ) Scope: 1. Locate the floor bearers and include on the Plan View. 2. For each existing pile (I think there may be about 25 piles). • Mark the piles’ location, and dimensions on the Plan View and number it. • Q1. Measure its height (ground to bearer. Approximate if you can’t get at it). Update the Information Sheet. • Q2. Measure its profile (eg --- treated). Update the Information Sheet. • Q3. Assess the piles’ accessibility. Update the Information Sheet. • Q4. Assess the piles’ condition. Update the Information Sheet . • If the answer to Q4 is ‘3. Fix’, or ‘4. Replace’, take a photo of it. Label/tag the photo with the Pile number. • If the recommendation for Q4 is ‘4. Replace’: • Q5: Can it be replaced in the same spot? (Y/N) or does it need to be re-located? • If it needs to be located, make the new location on the floor plan. Update the information sheet (Q5) • Q6. Assess the ground condition at the proposed location (Existing spot or new location).
