Hillsborough Driveway

Job description

Concrete Retaining Wall
Auckland

Published: 3 July 2024

The concrete driveway is long and has cracked along much of its length. In some areas there has been subsidence and closer to the curve down by your house that subsidence has been of a magnitude whereby the slabs of concrete have moved significantly. The drive is about 50m long and relatively steep and banks around a steep and sharp corner for the approach to your garage.   The driveway needs replacement around the curve and piles need to be sited on the outside corner to prevent ongoing settlement and to stabilise the corner of the slabs of concrete.  These should also be reinforced concrete with dish channels and an edging strip to redirect water that comes down the driveway.   Further up the driveway several slabs of concrete require replacement and with drop edge foundations where you abound no.64 Goodall St.   There are water issues and the water needs to be removed from site as quickly as possible. I consider the strip drain at the bottom of your driveway undersized. Further, there is an overland flow path from No.64 (although not indicated on the Council GIS maps) and I would use a 200mm diameter pipe to remove that water to across the driveway for subsequent disposal.
