Job description

Exterior Window & Door Installation
Auckland

Published: 19 June 2024

Our living room window was smashed by falling branch during a storm and the aluminium frame was damaged beyond repair. Insurance was handling the repair but has now told us the room can't be gibbed until the new window frame goes in... and manufacturing a new one could take a few months. We are eager to get our living room back ASAP so are now considering installing a reclaimed window to skip the manufacturing delay. We have found some reclaimed wooden frames nearby that are close in size (5-10cm narrower in both directions), and would like to scope out the feasibility of installing them (the exterior cladding is simple board and batten btw). If it's going to be straightforward then we would want to go ahead and do it asap, so please only make contact if you have availability to start very quickly. If you wanted to handle the rest of the room repair (gib, plaster, paint, wooden trim) too, that's a possibility, but we can handle that separately if needed. Note that this is a difficult access site with a lot of stairs down, and it's a second floor window on a steep incline.
