Job description

General Building
Auckland

The window rubbers have shrunk and there was water dribbling down and pooling in the plywood under the covering that is visible (see also picture for underneath). I have sealed the window but the plywood has been wet, it is completely rotten and needs replacing. I am not worried about the covering inside of the bottom of the bay window - I am expecting it to have to be destroyed to replace the bottom panel. The marks are me trying to find out if the panel is screwed or nailed on (still no answer to that). I will get it re-covered (i.e. not part of this quote). I do want the splashback left in place if possible - it is a separate piece. The whole window is screwed in as I think it was a later addition to the house (see photo), so if need be it can be taken off completely to replace the bottom panel. The bottom panel is approx 1400mm wide (side to side) by 525mm deep (from sink to glass). The panel looks to be 9-ply and needs to be treated/external ply to ensure that if the leak happens again it won't be as damaged. I'd also like it painted (I have the paint and can do it myself if given time). It look like it extends underneath the sides of the window frame. I presume it is nailed on to a stud underneath it, it is sitting on a flange out to the edge of the window - so it is supported all around.
