Curved brick planters

Job description

Posted 1 week ago

This project involves laying the bricks for brick planting areas in my backyard. I started this somewhat ambitious project as a complete novice and have realised I don't have the time to finish it nor the skills to cut the bricks I need. I have laid the concrete foundations and have all the bricks needed for the project. Note that the bricks are all secondhand and are not all the same variety. All that is left is to cut several bricks to size and mortar them in. I want the walls to be 4 to 5 courses high depending on if there are enough bricks. I have just over 500 plus some cemix from bunnings (5 bags). The walls have some quite tight curves so I believe half bricks are needed for these corners. I have already laid almost one course on the freestanding planter (see photos).
Total length of the freestanding planter is 750cm and the long planter which connects to our retaining wall is 1500cm.
The finish isn't very important to me, I kind of want a rustic, imperfect look, although I guess that's probably guaranteed given that the bricks are on their second use.
Time frame isn't super important, but if someone could smash it out in one go that would be great.
