Hi there, We have a near-new (9 months old) home in Cambridge. Unfortunately, a number of bricks are chipped - these are especially obvious under the windows (see attached photo). We were wondering if there is a way to patch these (maybe using a similar colour mortal) so the chips are less obvious? We have had no success with accepting responsibility. Our bricklayer blames the supplier (Midland Bricks) for supplying poor quality bricks, while the supplier is blaming the bricklayer. We have decided to look elsewhere to have this fixed - we want to put our home on the market in the next few months. We have kept 10 spare bricks, but the supplier has told us it would never be possible to match the new mortar to the old mortar and suggested having the chipped bricks 'patched' with similar colour mortal to the brick colour instead. The brick is 'Ivory Pearl' from Midland Bricks. Many thanks, Matthew Collins.
