retaining wall
Job description
I have an old drystone scoria wall which I want to take down and replace with a block retaining wall. The height would vary from about 20cm (0.2m) to 1.2m and the total length would be about 30m. I also want a wall and gatepost built at the front of the property, which would be about 1.5 by 3m in size.

Unfortunately, the job was never completed due to disagreements about cost and when and how the work was to be done.The actual blockwork was done to a high standard, but reinforcing bars were not placed in the gateposts despite my asking for these. There always seemed to be more money needed to "buy supplies" and despite promises to turn up on time, days would go by without the work being done. The final straw was when there was an objection to the charges that Builders' Crack would levy. I decided to dismiss the crew and plan to finish the job myself. I cannot, in all honesty, recommend this crew and I would not use them again on any project of mine.

"Hi i think this is an unfair assesment...we ran out of blocks that wernt even priced for the gate and letter box as they were left over matearial from the retaining wall project...as you and your wife knew... i only asked for more money to buy the remaining 32 blocks and 2 bags of morter, and labour and g.s.t needed to finish off the leter box and gate post....i txt you guys saying nothing can be done untill the 5th becoz my block supplier(the block shop) is on holiday untill the 5th i am more than happy to finish the job but only after or on the 5th.....fair enough its taken a long time but perfection takes time i thought you of all people believed in that......please contact me if you want me to finish it.....as i have tried calling you twice."
