Job description

Brick Retaining Walls
Auckland

NOTICE: If you don't read the job detail, don't communicate for weeks once I grant access and message you, or don't have intention of meeting me on site to discuss what's best way to do it and get all the info to quote for this job, please do not chase it. I will be building a fence in around 2 months as soon as Watercare move the water meter to the footpath. Fence posts towards the neighbour will be right up the current brick retaining wall. As neighbour and their visitors' cars and trucks bumped into it over the years more than once, the brickwork is cracked in few sections and loose in others. Before the posts can go in, I'll need to demolish the corner pillar and if I can save some bricks doing it then they can be used to patch up the wall. I am looking for a brick layer that can visit, have a look and devise a plan for this job and obviously quote for it. My current thinking is that pillar needs to be demolished first (one visit), then the fence people put the posts in ( as this may cause more disturbance to the wall) and then fix up the brick wall afterwards (second visit). But if you think that wall can be patched up at the same time when the pillar is demolished and that digging for the fence posts afterwards won't impact the wall, then we can do everything at once. So depending on your advice, the job may have to be done in two visits, or one. I am open to expert advice on the best way to do this. I don't need structural strength in the wall as no matter what I do, neighbours will keep banging into it, and they won't be open to contribution, however the fence posts should help with concrete behind the wall and also they may be able to see better how close to the wall they are once the fence goes up.
