Asbestos testing of sparkly ceiling in family home

Our ceiling was sprayed years ago with a sparkly covering which may contain asbestos. We are putting the house on the market (possible developer purchase), then we want to move the house to another site, so want to:
1. Test for asbestos
2. Check on options going forward
a. Does the asbestos need to be removed & what is the cost?
b. Can it be painted over to seal the asbestos in (can you do it & what is the cost)?
