SHORT DESCRIPTION OF JOB: Pick up, transport and disposal of 2 wooden boxes containing packed ACM (material is asbestos cement sheet).
NB Disposal of the ACM is to be at a landﬁll site approved for receiving ACM.
LOCATION: The boxes are present at a residential address (Pukerua Bay), at about 0.2m off ground level (outside but covered against the weather).
WHEN: Pick up (by prior arrangement) is no later than 29 March.
HOW ACM IS CONTAINED/PACKAGED: Wooden box (two). The external dimensions of the boxes are;-
0.60m Wide, 0.14m High, 1.5m Length (empty weight all up about 19 kg)
0.60m Wide, 0.11m High, 1.6m Length (empty weight all up about 21 kg)
The boxes are double-lined with new heavy-duty 200um polythene plastic sheeting for containing the ACM. Sealing of plastic sheets is with 2 layers of 135um adhesive PVC tape (to create 270um thickness).
Fasteners used for box are screws (throughout).
QUANTITY OF DIRECT ACM WASTE (NET OF BOX AND LINING WEIGHT): Best estimate of ACM is at most 72 kg (each box).
QUANTITY OF ALL WASTE (PACKAGING AND CONTENT):
Nominal 184 kg.
MARKINGS: The boxes each have two A4-size labels for clear marking. The label shows a yellow warning triangle (with exclamation mark) and black text under the triangle reads (capital letters) “Caution asbestos hazard” and “Do not open or damage box”.
HANDLES: Each box has two handles (rope loop, extends to about 0.5m off short side of box).
