Plans and consent for toilet in Garage
Job description
I would like plans to be drafted and for building consent to be obtained for the installation of a toilet, vanity and staircase in my garage loft. I have a detached double garage with a loft above one garage. I would like to install a toilet and vanity in the garage loft. The loft also requires a fixed staircase to be installed rather than the current fold up ladder. I anticipate the stair access being into the second garage. Wellington City Council require a building consent for this work. The garage has electricity and running water, the sewer connection is outside the garage door (see manhole in photo 1).

Tom prepared the plans and specifications to put a bathroom and bedroom into our garage and supported us through the consent process. Tom had some creative ideas for how to use the space and has good knowledge of the building code. Our consent was approved with only minor revisions to the original plans.
