Fisher and Paykel waste disposal unit tripping fuse

F&P waste disposal is tripping the fuse when we try to use it. Have checked for any blockages, tried the reset button. Plate moves freely when manually rotating it. Unit is about 5 years old. Not sure if I need a plumber or an electrician? Prefer weekends but can accommodate weekdays by arrangement.
