Faulty dishwasher, wainuiomata

My dishwasher has started playing up. First started with the water not draining completely and some being left at the bottom at the end of the cycle. It still worked, but then the dishes are now not being washed properly - the water seems to be dirty and the dishes are coming out covered in a soapy residue and grit. May be a pump issue? It is an older fisher and paykel model.
