We are in a granny flat unit and our TV does not get signal. The upstairs (main) unit has a working TV and aerial, so perhaps we could connect to that aerial. There is a signal cable coming from the wall, but this does not do the trick when we plug it into theTV. Would be good to understand what needs to be done. Hopefully we don't need a new aerial, but if we do then so be it.
