Refit underfloor insulation

Job image

Job description

Residential Insulation
Wellington

We've had to remove our insulation to allow for borer/pest spraying, the insulation needs to be refitted in 1-2 weeks. The house has polyester blanket style insulation, it fits between the floor beams cut into sections 30cm - 1.5m long and stays in place by friction. There are a few nails to hold some pieces in place. Access is pretty good, plenty of room for a person to crawl around in most areas, but in some places it's a bit tight. It's quite dry and as under floor areas go it's not a bad place to work, a few spiders and such as you'd expect but nothing too worrying. Total area to do is around 90 square meters. It took two 14 year old boys around 2.5 hours to remove the insulation, they've left the insulation under where it was taken from to allow for ease of refitting. There should be little if any cutting, and I have spare insulation if more areas can be reached. The pest spray is completely non-toxic to humans, and can actually be safely consumed though it's not recommended. Safety glasses to protect against dirt, gloves, and overalls or old clothes are recommended. I have lighting, work lights and a cord can be run down. A handyman could do it very easily, an insulation installer would be faster because of experience, but the key is that there should be no gaps whatsoever in the insulation. I'm happy for people to take a look if they need to, or just quote for a set number of hours but to charge less or more based on actual time taken.

They did exactly what they said they'd do, slightly cheaper than their estimate. Nothing complex, refitting insulation, but as far as I can see it was done to a good standard.
