\nDon\u2019t be fooled by those cute puppy dog eyes; homeowner Maddie says that \u2018butter wouldn\u2019t melt\u2019 when it comes to Indie, her beloved golden retriever x border collie pup.<\/strong><\/p>\n

If you\u2019re familiar with that<\/em> puppy phase \u2014 teething, pre-teen cheek and curiosity \u2014 you\u2019ll know the damage they can do when exploring their world (aka your home).<\/p>\n

A Gnawing Time for Indie<\/h3>\n

At around 5 months old, Indie started chewing the walls and skirting boards as a way of coping with what Maddie described as separation anxiety.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe\u2019s very bright, active and needs to be kept busy, so before lockdown when we were out and about, we would give her the run of the house,\u201d Maddie says.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe had a good go at the front and back entrance ways, then in the two bedrooms.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe found the holes pretty much immediately \u2014 she was always very sheepish when we saw them \u2014 and she would be slinking around with her head down and tail between her legs.\u201d<\/p>\n

Repairing The Damage<\/h3>\n

Throughout lockdown, Maddie and her wife were fortunate to be home full time and noticed Indie\u2019s behaviour improving as a result \u2014 meaning their three year old home might be safe from further puppy teeth and destruction.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe left the damage for a while during Covid, but when the time came to fix it, we weren\u2019t sure of who to ask to do the job,\u201d Maddie says.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo we thought we\u2019d give Builderscrack a try; the process was good in that we got pretty instant responses from those who were interested in it.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey came around and had a look at the job and we were happy with the price, so we confirmed a start date; we took Indie to doggy daycare for that day,\u201d Maddie laughs.<\/p>\n
