We were pleased with the outcome of the deck however there were some concerns about the hazard gaps that were evident after the completion of the job. This was discussed with the builder and he advised that this would be added costs which was a surprise to me. The deck looked good but a balustrade was required which was not discussed at the time and another added cost. This means that the deck does not comply with clause F4-safety from falling. Further to this the builder advised that he needed to get more materials totaling another $235 which was not discussed with us until the completion of the job. However, I am very disappointed in the incorrect amount that has been noted in this review. The builder advised me in advance that he would put the costs as shown. This is not the correct costs that we paid for and we paid a total of $3091.40 in total. Now how he got $980 plus GST from this I am puzzled about. I have had several emails with the builder to correct his practices and have concerns that if he had noted this incorrect costs against my name how many other people has this happened to? I did try to correct his error and he has given me the attitude that it is my problem and I can write what I want. He also left behind a large pile of mess - but took away the left over materials which we had paid for. This for me is about honesty and I can not endorse the costs as noted above. Thank you
